  • Set and attend weekly scoping meetings in the field with the PMC to scope work orders
  • Field scope work with PMC and ensure alignment on minimum scope per Risk Based Work Selection procedure
  • Comply with site requirements for Planner documentation (e.g., job pack creation, scoping sheet creation, SAP planning of WO, etc.).
  • Review Planner work list for new work.
      • Within SAP review variant/individual Planner Group code
      • Review and ensure that work request have a clear scope and description.
  • Build efficient plans that optimize use of resources, minimize downtimes, and can be performed safely.
      • Communicate clear scope of work.
      • Use Planner Complexity Guidelines to determine the extent of the detailed planning required.
      • Develop and maintain standard job plans.
      • Obtain approved drawings and specifications.
      • Develop scope of work for other work groups and support crafts.
      • Work with other work groups and support craft to develop an integrated schedule when required.
  • Responsible for reviewing scope and gaining alignment with support groups/organizations (soft trade and other support).
  • Identify material needs and any long lead time items, and ensure material and contract services’ status are tracked.
  • Gain understanding of operation timing needs and ensure Basic Finish Date (BFD) LACD alignment based on practical timing by ensuring timeline allows for procuring materials, completing fabrication, and basic mechanical needs.
  • Ensure all requirements are complete prior to accepting work.  All engineering or technical support and documentation must be available and all Management of Change (eMOC) must be Approved to Progress (ATP) prior to Planner beginning work.
  • Adhere to site practices for procurement of materials and receipt of materials. Initiate contractor strategies for review and approval by Planning Tech Forman.
  • Based on scope and job requirements, define compensation type (lump sum, unit rate, or T&M).  Engage site procurement contact as required.
  • Review Contractor estimates and verify components of estimates can achieve the intent of the work order.
  • Adhere to site practices for creating requisitions for contractor services.
  • Provide detail cost estimates.  If the planned cost exceeds the work order approved cost, then Planner must initiate re-approval.  Refer to Work Order Management for more information.
  • Interface with FLS’s/PMC and support crafts to develop integrated plans for complex jobs.  Archive job packs for next repair opportunity using methods outlined in site requirements for planner functions.
  • Review and ensure job estimates meet Leadership expectations.
  • Ensure ongoing job plan feedback from Execution Tech Forman for continuous improvement. (Planner Feedback Form)
  • Check Critical PM’s in SAP for any activities or updates needed for the plan.  Ensure PMs have correct plan by providing additions or changes to the SAP System Administrator.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings to update planning priorities and resources.
  • Issue Planner metrics (KPIs) when requested.
